2 road rage accidents happen in a week, police say

Police claim that two accidents in just one week were connected to road rage in Kansas City.

In the first incident, at the end of May, a man and his girlfriend had been going to an ultrasound appointment, as the young woman was pregnant. They left it and apparently became lost.

At some point while they were driving, a road rage incident with another driver escalated and shots were fired. The pregnant woman was hurt in the shooting and the boyfriend, who was just 19 years old, was killed.

Police had not found the shooter, according to early reports, but they claimed to have a person of interest. The latest reports show that a suspect has been arrested.

The more recent incident happened on the first day of June, and it all started with a rear-end accident. The rear car, which caused the crash, tried to speed away from the accident scene. The woman behind the wheel had another vehicle in her way, though, and she tried to swerve at high speeds to go around it. Her car went out of control, let the roadway, and slammed into the side of a nearby home.

Officials have warned of the dangers of road rage, which is more common than many people think. The AAA says that around 80 percent of drivers have driven aggressively, claiming it factors into half of all deadly accidents. It is also three times as common for men to experience road rage than women.

Have you been hit by an aggressive driver or victimized by road rage? If you have, you may want to know if you have a right to financial compensation for medical bills and more.
